4-wheelers from Santa
I got a 4-wheeler for Christmas early and Glenn built a track in the back pasture. So now we can all 3 ride on it together.

This is "Silent Night" played by the "Silent Monks". I'm the one just right of center behind the big blobs of white tape.
This is our group with 3 missing. We had 5 different shows.....LONG weekend!
This is Sarah....one of the ones missing from the group picture. She and I had to enter from backstage. We had live "nativity" animals outside the church to pet.

Last football game - Nov 1, 2008
Ty had his last game Saturday against his best friends team. It ended in a tie which put Ty's team out of the running for the Super Bowl game. They ended in 3rd place. He had a great game and this video shows a long caught pass, an interception and a double reverse play for a TD.

Dad's new truck
Dad bought a new truck today after 9 years and 240,000+ miles on his last one. We almost forgot to take a "first day" picture with it. That's why this one is at night. He found the truck last weekend while he was here and came back today in his old truck to trade it in. My favorite thing about it is the remote starter....I love it!

The first play is Ty's extra point, then his touchdown, and the next two are his interceptions. He had a good time and they won 13-6.

Ty's touchdown and extra point
I got a little excited on the extra point when I saw the ball going to Ty and I forgot to follow it with the camera. :)

Hurricane Ike
Ike had made his way down to a tropical storm by the time it came by Waco today and we only got about 1/2 inch of rain. A few wind gusts were fairly strong but nothing more than we have seen before living up here on a hill.
We watched the news until 1am and the dog woke me up around 5:30am so I turned the tv back on. Ty had a football game this morning at 9am and was supposed to be there by 8:30. We thought everything would be cancelled so we didn't really bother getting up and getting ready. Around 8:30 I realized we weren't going to get much rain for a little while and that I might should take him up there and see if they were going to play. I went in there with his clothes to wake him up and dressed him while he was telling me he hated football. We left at 8:40 and he had about 15 minutes to wake up before we would be at the school. I really thought we would get there and they wouldn't start the game because it was starting to rain a little harder. We drove up to the field at 8:55 and they had just started the game. I told him to get out and run over there. He quickley got his flags on and only missed a few plays. He ended up getting an interception, almost another one, grabbed 3 flags and made a block for a touchdown. He was very excited (and wet) after the game. They won 8-0. Of course, thinking there would be no game, I ran out of the house without any cameras.
The rest of the day we have just been watching the storm reports and football while the kids play with the neighbors. We are going out to eat with our Sunday School class tonight.
I hope those in the Houston area and Southwest LA made it through safe.

Ty's first flag football game
Ty was excited to play in his first flag football game. The video shows him jumping off sides for his firt penalty, catching his first pass (even though the other team was right on top of him when he caught it), and having a few passes to him deflected (one he almost caught anyway). They are the Texans. Mom and Dad were very proud!!

Team Party
The softball team has an "Echo Challenge" at the beginning of the year and they come over for dinner before the big day. The kids and I are headed to Great Wolf Lodge in the morning to meet up with Janet and her girls, mom and her husband and his daughter and her family. It is going to be a lot of fun so look for more pictures next week.
